Last night, Congress confirmed Russell Vought -- chief architect of Trump's Project 2025 -- to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
A quick refresher: Project 2025 is a 920-page blueprint developed for the Trump administration. It outlines their plan to kill our climate progress, leave us vulnerable to extreme weather, gut more than 400,000 clean energy jobs, and give Big Oil donors a free pass to pollute.
But it's worth taking a moment to notice how that confirmation unfolded.
One group of senators -- organized by Brian Schatz -- held an all-night filibuster to delay this vote and shine a spotlight on the threat that Russell Vought represents. All 47 Democrats in the Senate united to vote against his nomination.
And we're going to need a lot more of that in the weeks ahead. We want climate champions to slow down Trump nominees, gum up their attempts to advance policy, and generally make it painful for Trump to advance a Project 2025 agenda. So the lawmakers who stood up today need to know that grassroots supporters are watching. They need to hear that we support those efforts.
Will you add your name letting Brian Schatz, and Democrats, know that we appreciate their efforts and want them to keep pushing to derail, delay, and divide the Trump administration?
Donald Trump has made one thing very clear: He wants to raise costs for working families -- attempting to freeze all federal grants and loans and implementing tariffs that will raise costs on everything from eggs to energy.
We need Democrats to do everything in their power to make things difficult for Trump and his cabinet. And it starts with using every tactic we have to delay cabinet confirmations of people like Russell Vought.
Will you add your name to thank Democrats for their efforts? We need to make sure they know we're watching, and we need them to keep fighting.
Thanks for being in this fight,
