Millions of seniors and people with disabilities rely on Medicare, but if the authors of Project 2025 get their way, then we can kiss our hard-won health coverage goodbye. TAKE ACTION Project 2025 would make corporate insurance plans—run by the likes of Aetna and UnitedHealthcare—the default option for people enrolling in Medicare. This would be a windfall for Wall Street, but a disaster for patients and health care providers. This is a blueprint to privatize Medicare completely, eroding traditional Medicare and replacing it with care that costs more for worse outcomes. Our experience with privatized health plans tells us that corporate insurers cannot be trusted to run Medicare.
