Pamela, Two years ago, Amazon workers at a Staten Island warehouse made history when they won the first union election against Amazon. The corporation spent millions to fight them, but the workers fought and they won. Amazon has spent two years dragging its feet, illegally refusing to negotiate a contract in the hope that workers would get discouraged and give up. It won't work. Amazon Labor Union is moving ahead with its first-ever leadership elections this summer, which will mark the kickoff of a major campaign to bring Amazon to the table. But ALU needs your help! They need resources to conduct the election. I'm chipping in $200 to their GoFundMe. Can you do $?7? Amazon's obstruction prevents ALU from collecting dues, leaving our fellow workers in need of resources for their leadership elections. This is where you come in – union supporters like us must step up to support this vital cause. The ALU Democratic Reform Caucus has set a goal of raising $5,000 through GoFundMe to cover campaign organizing expenses and materials that will educate workers on union democracy, strengthening our collective bargaining power. Let's make this another Hot Labor Summer by supporting ALU in its pursuit of democratic accountability and mobilization of workers en masse. Together, we can force Amazon to recognize the rights of its employees and negotiate a fair contract. Donate to Amazon Labor Union's Democratic Reform Caucus today! Solidarity forever, Mike Phelan Progress America |
