Pamela, here’s your Fair Fight Action update

Check out what we've been up to

Pamela, we've had a busy start to the year — and it's only going to pick up speed from here. We know that you're busy too, so we've rounded up some recent news and information you might have missed:

Georgia's Legislative Session
At the end of March, Georgia's MAGA-led legislature pushed through numerous bills targeting voters, immigrants, and our public schools.

House Bill 976 and some provisions of Senate Bill 221 merged with SB 189 to form an omnibus proposal which could have the effect of disenfranchising Black and brown voters, seniors, students, rural voters, and Georgia's unhoused population. This bill complicates the voting process, overburdens election staff, and elevates the power of election deniers.

Governor Brian Kemp can veto SB 189 and the other harmful bills from this past session, but we need to apply pressure — call him at 404-656-1776 before May 7 and demand he veto these attacks on Georgians' fundamental freedoms.

ICYMI: Stacey Abrams on MSNBC
Fair Fight Action founder Stacey Abrams was a recent guest on MSNBC, breaking down why fighting for democracy is at the core of our mission and the importance of connecting the dots around voting. As she says in her comments, it's not just about getting registered; it's about ensuring we can all vote, and that our vote counts — because true democracy requires ongoing commitment, not just during elections.

Civics for the Culture is back!
Last month we launched the newest season of our civics education web series, Civics for the Culture. The fourth season — created in partnership with Free & Just — explores the intersection of voting rights and the fight for reproductive freedom.

As state anti-voter lawmakers continue to introduce anti-abortion legislation and work to strip away the freedom of choice in the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson Supreme Court decision, this season of Civics for the Culture provides key insights into how we ended up here and why reproductive rights is one of the most defining issues of our time.

You can catch up on the first four episodes of the season!

Support from activists like you helps power this work, and ensure that we can reach more voters. If you can, chip in today to keep up the fight.

Yours in Solidarity,

Fair Fight Action
