Pamela, In 2019, when I decided to run for the Delaware State Senate, I was driven by one simple reason: I had to advocate for the people who were facing life's biggest challenges and those who love them. People like my husband Andy. When Andy was battling cancer, paid leave allowed him to focus on the full-time job of getting care. And my employer's flexibility allowed me to be there by his side to care for him. We were both lucky. But I've met so many other families who simply didn't have that same benefit. Patients forced to choose between their job and their health care. Parents going back to work days after giving birth. Family members who had to choose between their paycheck and their loved one's needs. Making paid leave possible for workers and families across Delaware was a huge part of why I ran for the State Senate — and once in office, I fought for a bill that ended up being the largest expansion of the social safety net in modern state history. Now, I'm asking you to join my fight so we can work for those too often left out in Congress. Universal healthcare, early childhood education, paid leave for all, gun safety, securing voting, reproductive, LGBTQ rights, reforming our criminal justice system, and much, much more. That's what you can count on me to work for in Washington. Will you add your personal endorsement of my campaign? In a race like this, we need all hands on deck. Thanks for hearing me out, — Sarah |
