Abortion access is integral to healthcare — period

I was raised in a long line of medical professionals, and my admiration and passion for health care means I can't sit still while reproductive rights are under attack.

Pamela, I want to share a little more about my background with you today. My upbringing has helped guide my values and my passions since I was a child. I was born into a family where stethoscopes and lab coats were symbols of dedication and service — which has instilled in me a deep sanctity for the medical profession. The right to choose is a fundamental liberty. Will you sign my petition to show your support for reproductive freedom? My parents are both doctors, and my grandparents also devoted their lives to medicine. That's why healthcare has been such an important issue for me as I launched our campaign. There can be no ifs, ands, or buts about where we stand on healthcare and especially reproductive rights. At a time when multiple states are taking away individuals' rights to bodily autonomy, we must be even louder to show that we are against these attacks. Championing healthcare rights is nothing short of heroic and reproductive rights are a key part of that. Abortion access is an integral part of medical care and a fundamental right. I hope that I can not only make my parents and grandparents proud, but YOU as well by going to Washington to fight to protect abortion rights in Michigan and across the country.
