Conflict, poverty and disaster do not discriminate. Around the world, millions of children are facing the consequences of horrific hardships they didn’t cause. Drought, famine, war and disease are all contributing to the loss of childhood for so many kids who deserve to grow, learn, play and be happy. But with your help today, we can ensure they’re able to do just that, no matter what obstacles they face.
12-year-old Ratana* lives on the waters of East Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia. Her family depends on fishing to earn their livelihood. But because of pollution and the climate crisis, they’ve experienced firsthand how the vibrant life of the lake – their source of food, water and income – is now disappearing. Without it, all semblance of childhood for Ratana could be lost.
Thanks to the help of dedicated partners, we’re supporting a floating school to promote the education of children like Ratana and others in her community. Together, they’re able to experience childhood while learning about the climate crisis and steps they can take to create a more sustainable future.
Your support can change everything for children like Ratana – empowering them to learn, grow and dream.
