Leadership Circle member Stephen Singiser was retired and looking for a way to give back. That’s when he and his daughter, Cynthia, came up with the idea for Flatty Bear – a toy company that makes teddy bears inspired by the one his grandmother sewed for him back in 1941. For every Flatty Bear sold, another is donated to Save the Children to help comfort a child in need.
Our partnership with Flatty Bear feels meant to be – their bears are stuffed but flat, so they can travel easily to children all over the world. They’re fair trade and eco-friendly, and they meet important safety standards such as not having buttons. Over the holidays, Mr. Singiser donated 1,000 bears to Save the Children’s rural education programs in the United States, where they are already putting smiles on kids’ faces.
Because of generous Leadership Circle members like Mr. Singiser, we can deliver comforting toys to children who have lost everything to natural disasters like Hurricane Ian or have been forced to flee devastating conflict like the war in Ukraine.
