Politico is reporting that House GOP leaders "feel intense pressure from their Donald Trump-aligned base" to impeach President Biden and other administration officials.²

That's right: MAGA Republicans are preparing to launch sham impeachment proceedings against President Biden.

That means MoveOn needs to be ready to launch a huge PR campaign to push back against MAGA lies and conspiracy theories and to protect President Biden.

Andra, when House Democrats impeached Donald Trump, it was Trump's actions that compelled them to act.

In 2019, Trump was impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress after he corruptly used his office to solicit a foreign government for help with his political campaign.³

Two years later, Trump became the only president in U.S. history to be impeached twice. Trump was impeached for "incitement of insurrection" after he encouraged a violent mob of white supremacists to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021.⁴

And now, the GOP wants payback.

Impeachment is a tool that is rarely used in American government, and it is reserved only to remove officials who have committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

But MAGA Republicans, who have no regard for the rule of law, want to turn impeachment into a political bludgeon.

In fact, Marjorie Taylor Greene has already filed multiple articles of impeachment against President Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland.⁵
