| The secret's out, Pamela: I'm formally announcing that I am exploring a run to represent Kentucky in the U.S. Senate. There's a progressive movement rising in Kentucky, the likes of which we've never seen before. I know in my heart that if we work together we can finally elect the kind of leadership our state has fought for for so long and deliver meaningful change to our communities. If you're ready to bring this change to Kentucky, can you add your name and give our effort your personal endorsement? I'll remember you as one of the first supporters who stood with me in the beginning of this fight. Here's something you need to know about me, Pamela. I grew up in one of the poorest zip codes in Kentucky. Both of my parents had to drop out of high school to help take care of my brothers and sisters. We sometimes had to go without heat in the winter or air conditioning in the summer. My mom often went without eating so that I could. But I know that my family wasn't alone in their struggles. We are just a single example of the millions of families in Kentucky who've been left behind by decades of failed leadership. So when I say this fight for real change is personal for me — I mean it. If I run, we will center the urgent issues that families like mine faced. We need to be ready to take on big fights so we can finally elect a leader who will unapologetically fight for bold solutions like Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and racial justice reform. But before I make my official decision, I need to make sure that if we run, we'll have the support of a diverse, grassroots coalition to take on this work. I hope that you'll do me the honor of giving your personal endorsement today and help us start building the powerful grassroots movement we need to win. Remember: When we work together, we have the power to move mountains. Thank you for your support, Charles |
