We can’t let the McConnell’s Senate replace Justice Ginsburg

Mitch McConnell and other Senate Republicans couldn't even wait a few hours before gleefully announcing that they would vote on a new Supreme Court nominee from Donald Trump's shortlist before voters get to have our say in the election.

"My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed." This was the dying wish of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Last month, we lost a true American hero. Justice Ginsburg served on the Supreme Court for 27 years, fighting her entire career to safeguard and protect our rights vigorously by upholding the Constitution, the same document we veterans swore to protect when we served in the military. In her time on the court, Justice Ginsburg led decisions to require previously all-male military academies to accept women, paving the way for gender equality in the military. Her fight to end LGBTQ+ discrimination is part of her powerful legacy she leaves behind, even as Trump's Trans Ban still lingers. She's tirelessly defended our reproductive rights. Justice Ginsburg proved time and time again she would stand up for our community. Now, we must protect Justice Ginsburg's legacy as we enter into the political fight for our lives.
