RE: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

OUR LAST END OF QUARTER DEADLINE BEFORE ELECTION DAY -- Barney Frank: "Giving to the DCCC is the best possible thing you can do." QUADRUPLE MATCH CHIP IN >>

The choice about how to allocate our campaign contributions has gotten harder because our targets of opportunity have broadened and deepened.

In the midterm elections, our only realistic chance to take control of a branch of government was the House, and with the support of recipients of this letter, we did.

My aim today is to warn against the danger that the opportunity to elect Joe Biden and a Democratic-led Senate may lead some to take the success of 2O18 for granted.

Will you pitch in $1 to the fight to protect and expand our Democratic Majority?

The powerful attraction of a country unsullied by the bizarre malignity of Donald Trump and the arrogant anti-democratic reign of Mitch McConnell must not detract from the importance of maintaining a strong Democratic Majority under Nancy Pelosi’s great leadership.

We know the Republican Congressional reaction to Joe Biden’s Presidency will be unrelenting partisan obstructionism -- an even more virulent version of the strategy of putting the desire for electoral vengeance ahead of the national interest with which McConnell greeted President Obama.

The best defense against this tactic is the re-election of those who stood behind Nancy Pelosi’s great leadership in the current Congress, especially those Members who took seats from Republicans in Trump-supporting or marginal districts.

The post-election news will lead with the overall results, but an important component, particularly to political analysts, campaign strategists, and most relevantly, officeholders and candidates themselves, will be how well Democrats in difficult seats survived right-wing attacks. If there are losses in this category even as we hold our Majority, powerful influencers will try to use this result to intimidate members in all but the safest districts to back down.

Giving to the DCCC is the best possible thing you can do to see that they do not succeed. Electing Joe Biden is a moral imperative. So is making sure he has the Congressional support he will need.

As some Republicans reduce support for Donald Trump because of self-preservation (mostly), aesthetics (somewhat), or principle (very rarely), more money will flow to the potential obstructers of a Biden Presidency. Please don't let this succeed.

Will you contribute $1 to the DCCC to protect our Majority everywhere?
