Hong Kong’s ivory trade is killing hippos

Add your name to end the hippo ivory trade.

African Wildlife Foundation

DID YOU KNOW:
Hippos are being slaughtered for their ivory.

Hippo teeth are made of ivory just like elephant tusks

As much as 90% of the global hippo contraband flows through Hong Kong's markets.

Fact: Lax enforcement of hippo ivory regulations makes it easier for traffickers to smuggle hippo teeth.

Tell Hong Kong: Shut down the trade in hippo ivory!

Hippo teeth are cheaper than elephant ivory and easier for ruthless wildlife traffickers to smuggle. Shockingly, this magnificent species has been excluded from protections in many of the ivory bans.

Hong Kong is the epicenter of the global trade in hippo ivory. We need to tell them that hippos could go extinct unless they make the ivory trade entirely illegal. Sign our petition now!
