I’ll cut to the chase: I’m humbly asking for your $1 before the biggest deadline of the year in 48 hours.   As a young man, I marched to end Jim Crow segregation. Spilled blood on the bridge in Selma. Went to jail. Was beaten by angry mobs. And watched brave Americans die. All for basic rights.   But hear me when I say I’ve never seen anything more dangerous than this President.   This month, I’ve watched this reckless Administration work to rip health care away from our most vulnerable Americans, defund Medicare to fund billionaires’ tax breaks, and rip immigrant children from their parents without a second thought.   For those of us who’ve shed blood to make this country what it is today, this President’s behavior is an absolute affront -- so I’m asking for your help to stop him.   We badly need to elect a Democratic Congress. But I can’t do it alone -- I know better than anyone it takes a movement of people taking a stand.   I wouldn’t ask if Saturday’s Mid-Year Deadline wasn’t the most critical one we’ve ever faced together: Can I count on your $1?   Chip in $1 immediately >> Chip in $35 immediately >> Chip in $50 immediately >> Chip in $100 immediately >> Chip in $250 immediately >> Or donate another amount >> Decades after I marched in Selma, I’m watching injustice rear its ugly head again.   I just witnessed this President order Congress to defund our seniors’ Medicare -- robbing them of the retirement they’ve paid into their entire lives -- to fund his wealthy donors’ tax breaks. I don’t think our seniors should bear the burden for Republicans’ massive tax scam -- do you?   I watched this President go to court and demand insurance companies be given the right to deny coverage to Americans with cancer, diabetes, and asthma. I think our leaders should fight for OUR rights, not those of massive companies -- don’t you?   After violence between neo-Nazis and good people in Charlottesville, I witnessed our President place equal blame on both sides. I simply won’t stomach that -- and neither should you.   I’ve witnessed a whole lot of injustice in my lifetime -- and the injustice I’ve seen under this Administration has been among the worst. I don’t say that lightly.   This Mid-Year Deadline is the biggest moment we’ve ever faced together. I can’t overstate the urgency of winning a Democratic House to put a check this dangerous President. I’m calling on 21,534 Democrats before the Mid-Year Deadline -- will you take a stand?
