voter intimidation in America

Will you join me in demanding Congress reinstate our basic voting rights protections? >>
As Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, I’ve seen firsthand how Republicans are actively undermining our sacred right to vote.

So today -- as communities across the country celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. -- will you join me in demanding Congress reinstate our basic voting rights protections? >>

For far too long, far too many Americans endured blatant racial discrimination.

They were unjustly denied the right to vote -- simply because of the color of their skin.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his life to this cause. He fought to ensure every American a vote and a voice in our democracy.

But I’ve watched President Trump and his Republicans work to rip that all to shreds.

From Republicans’ complete sham of a voter fraud commission to their burdensome and partisan barriers to voting -- they’ve attacked our sacred right at every turn.

We must not let Dr. King’s sacrifice -- and all those who poured their blood, sweat, and tears into securing our right to vote -- be in vain.

That’s why I’m asking for a renewed sense of urgency and commitment to reinstating our basic voting rights protections.

This is a critical time for action, and I need your voice to join mine. Sign on before midnight to demand basic voting rights protections. >>

The looming risk of voter disenfranchisement threatens our democracy every single day.

We still have miles to go before we can rest.

Thank you,

Congressman Cedric Richmond
Chair, Congressional Black Caucus
