important (don’t delete!)

How do you produce a ranting, hysterical tweet without touching a keyboard?

By contributing to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee by March 31.

If the millions who are appalled by Donald Trump’s wide assault on our values show their commitment by donating anything from $5 on up to the solid work the DCCC is already doing for the 2018 Congressional elections…

You can be sure that in the pre-dawn hours on the day after the report is due, our erratic President will be typographically bellowing about how unfair it is for the victims of his attacks on healthcare, the environment, civil rights, and economic fairness to fight back.

And his rage will be fueled by the reports he will get that our show of strength is making Republican House members less likely to toe his line.

There are as many reasons to contribute to the DCCC in time for next week’s reporting deadline as there are issues that we confront as a society -- since Trump manages to be mightily wrong on almost all of them.

But for me there is an added incentive: when I read the semi-coherent, self-wounding cry of self-pity that Trump sends out when he hears that the DCCC has done well, I won’t mind taking even a little bit of credit for provoking it.

Will you pitch in $1 to the DCCC before the deadline on Friday?
