PHOTOS: See how our heroes are responding by air, land and water after hurricanes in the Southeast

We will be by our service members every step of the way on the long road to recovery ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏

As thousands of our National Guards and active-duty service members continue to conduct heroic relief missions by air, land and water across the Southeast, we wanted to share some new photos from their historic response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Service members survey damaged house

Service members from the Florida and South Carolina National Guard search for survivors at a destroyed property near Stuart, Florida. The area was decimated by tornadoes caused by Hurricane Milton as the storm progressed across the state.

Word 'HELP' written on road where service members are responding.

Two Air Force pararescue specialists rappel down from an HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter during Hurricane Helene relief operations in North Carolina.

Service members cutting downed trees from road.

Reservists help an emergency response team clear road debris to reach residents affected by Hurricane Helene in Burnsville, North Carolina.

Service members delivering meals and water in damaged neighborhood

Soldiers deliver water, meals and nonperishable goods to senior citizens in communities devastated by Hurricane Milton.

It’s clear the recovery from these two disasters will be long, but the USO is committed to being there for our service members at every step of the way.

As our service members work around the clock to reach survivors and help communities recover from these two devastating storms, your gift will have a major impact in supporting them worldwide during this critical moment for our military and our country. So please, will you rush a donation of $29 and help us support our heroes in uniform around the globe?*

Thank you for your urgent support.

—The USO
