I was incredulous to hear him state that he voted against the act because service members don't have to prove their asthma was not pre-existing.

I can't believe the ignorance of the Senator or his speech writer/s.

Anyone who served in the gulf would have been inducted under current protocols.

That is:  if you have active asthma  --  YOU CANNOT GET IN !!

If you had juvenile asthma  -- You would have to have been SYMPTOM FREE since BEFORE your 13th birthday.  Even then inductance is only on a case-by-case basis with strict follow-up.

The  JUNIOR  Senator from KY should know better.  And  HE  claims to be a doctor.

I hope this blaring ignorance is only apparent in the Senior Senator by next January.
