Right now, my friend Gov. Phil Murphy is campaigning to become the first Democrat in decades to win a second term as New Jersey governor -- that's big for the Garden State, and even bigger for Democrats across the country. Let me explain:
Folks like to think of New Jersey as a blue state -- but especially when it comes to electing governors, history has proven otherwise. If we're going to make new history, we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work to win in three days and build our momentum.
So, can I count on you to chip in $7 to the DNC's Finish Line Fund before tomorrow's deadline? We're fast approaching the final end-of-month fundraising deadline before polls close, so we don't have any time to lose.
This year's elections in New Jersey and Virginia are often referred to as "off-year races." Well, we don't believe in off-years here at the DNC. That's why we're making our largest-ever investment in New Jersey for a governor's race to make sure Democrats have the resources they need to win, including:
- Expanding voter education and turnout efforts for voters of color, including multilingual outreach to mobilize the Garden State's growing Spanish-speaking and AAPI populations.
- Scaling our organizing capacity to mobilize thousands of folks within our volunteer network to help educate and turn out voters.
- Leading a robust voter protection effort to expand access to early vote and protect the vote, including polling place lookup tools, access to our national voter protection hotline, and a database for incident tracking and monitoring.
There is simply too much at stake to fall short in these final moments. The finish line is within our sights, and now we just need to run through the tape.
Make a $7 donation to the DNC's Finish Line Fund before tomorrow's end-of-month deadline so that we can continue to be a reliable resource for Democrats today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Let's do this,
