Your contribution matters a lot right now. From the first day of this campaign, I made a commitment to you that I would reject any contributions from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists.
Instead, this campaign is powered by people. It's a deliberate choice. Even though it means leaving money on the table.
Here is an uncomfortable fact about this race: The president has already raised at least $30 million in his re-election bid. He will raise -- and spend -- even more to hold on to power.
If we're going to win this Democratic primary and face off against Trump, we have to be able to compete with his campaign war chest. But we're going to do it our way: by building a movement of people pitching in $1, $10 -- whatever they can -- to fight back.
Our team just re-ran the numbers, and we still need to raise $110,532.28 before April is over to stay on track and continue building a campaign with the strength to take on Trump.
We all have a choice to make in this moment. We have to decide who we are, and whether we're willing to fight for it.
This will not be easy. But no fight worth having ever is.
