Yesterday, Attorney General Holder announced a major transformation for our organization — one that positions us to take on the new era of redistricting and meet this moment in defense of representative democracy.
All On The Line is now Redistricting Action. We're sending a message that everyone has a role to play, every voice and every voter matters, and we are ready to fight for this mission with strength and urgency.
While our name has changed, our mission to make sure every map, in every state, truly represents the people remains the same. We're crystal clear on our objectives:
- Educating voters about what's at stake when politicians gerrymander.
- Mobilizing voters to organize and speak out against rigged maps wherever these fights arise across the country.
- Training volunteers and organizers on how to make their voices heard and help their neighbors do the same.
I wish I could say that this transition would make this work easier. The truth is, extreme lawmakers continue to attack the fundamental tenets of our democracy on a scale like never before. Redistricting Action is here to mobilize an opposition to these anti-democracy forces that's capable not just of fighting back, but ultimately prevailing. These efforts will require strong grassroots support.
