It seems as though every day, the National Guard and ICE enter a new state. And so far, almost every single Republican governor has helped Trump militarize our streets.
In at least 19 states, and counting, Guard members are working hand in hand with ICE. Out of 27 states with GOP governors, at least 23 of them have stood behind Trump's military takeover.
The images are horrible, Pamela. National Guard members and ICE agents using tear gas and hitting peaceful demonstrators with riot shields in Los Angeles, shooting a pastor with pepper balls in Chicago and crashing into civilian vehicles, sending drivers to the hospital in D.C.
Trump and his cronies are now deploying National Guard units into states that not only never requested them, but don't want them in their cities. Governors can refuse to cooperate, sue to block illegal deployments and defend their citizens from Trump's escalating attempts to use state forces as fear and control.
Today, every governor faces the same choice: Take a critical stand against the Trump administration or allow them to take over their state. The choice is clear, Pamela. Every single governor should stand against Trump's takeover.
Tell your governor to do the right thing and stand strong against Trump's occupation of American cities.
