Pamela,
On this Giving Tuesday, we need you to know what's at stake.
This year, Common Cause helped hold the line against an Article V constitutional convention - rescinding four convention calls (the most in one year since 2017) and stopping new ones in Idaho and Montana.
If you haven't heard of Article V, it's a loophole in our Constitution that could radically reshape our entire way of life at the behest of extremist politicians and corporate special interests.
They say it's about "cleaning up government." In reality, it's a Trojan horse to push forward the worst parts of Project 2025 — gutting public schools, attacking reproductive rights, and rolling back freedoms that belong to all of us.
We're now just a few states away from this nightmare. That's why right-wing figures like Rick Santorum and Ron DeSantis are pushing so hard — because they know they can't convince the majority of Americans to support their agenda, so they're trying to rewrite the rules instead.
Here's the good news: Common Cause is leading the fight to stop them. We've tracked nearly 150 resolutions nationwide this year and we've rescinded calls in 13 states since 2016 including Connecticut, Illinois, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington — keeping our Constitution safe for now.
Pamela, this Giving Tuesday, your support keeps that work going. When you give today, you're funding the research, legal strategy, and grassroots pressure that keep extremists from succeeding.
