The White House is closing in on war plans against Venezuela.
Last week, Trump reviewed options for military operations in the Caribbean, including ground strikes in Venezuela. He moved warships deeper into the Caribbean and bombed yet another boat coming from Venezuela. Trump also just designated a so-called Venezuelan drug cartel that the White House claims is led by Nicolas Maduro as a foreign terrorist organization.
Congress has so far failed to check Trump's unilateral military escalations. Our lawmakers must use their constitutional powers to stop Trump before America is dragged into another endless war.

Trump has now executed 21 strikes on boats that the White House baselessly claimed were carrying drugs, extrajudicially killing at least 83 people. The Intercept reported on a secret memo from the DOJ providing legal cover for any government officials involved in these killings.
Congress has the constitutional powers to make decisions about sending the U.S. military to war. Many members of Congress and advocates for peace are calling for the House and Senate to use these powers to stop war with Venezuela.
Now, all of Congress must stand against unconstitutional military strikes.
