Instead of siding with patients and members, Costco is caving to pressure from far-right extremists.1 Sign the petition to demand that Costco prioritize health and science over anti-abortion disinformation campaigns. Mifepristone is overwhelmingly safe—even safer than penicillin and Viagra (both of which Costco pharmacies stock)—and it's been FDA-approved for over two decades.2 Millions of patients have used it safely, making it the most common method of abortion care in the U.S.3 But despite this, Costco is refusing to get certified to dispense the pill at its pharmacies, buckling under pressure from anti-abortion groups and investors. Other major pharmacies, including CVS and Walgreens, have already received certification to dispense mifepristone. There's no reason Costco can't follow suit. Their decision is not about safety or consumer demand—it's about politics. And the people paying the price are customers and patients who deserve access to basic health care. This isn't just about Costco—it's part of a coordinated strategy to ban medication abortion nationwide, even in states where it's legal. People's access to essential health care is on the line.
