We are at an inflection moment in the history of our country where we as a nation need to look ourselves in the mirror and ask: “Who are we?” Tonight during the State of the Union, Donald Trump will attempt to gloss over his vision of America -- a country where we supposedly exploit our differences for our own selfish political gain. A government that works for corporations, not the people, and attacks women, working families, immigrants, and communities of color. I reject that vision -- and I know you do too. In November, it’s up to every single one of us to answer that question of “who are we” by participating in the midterm elections. The fate of our country is in our hands -- and it’s on us to reject Trump’s vision of a hateful America and embrace an agenda rooted in justice, equality, and tolerance. That’s why I’m asking: Can you add a contribution of $1 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee before tonight’s State of the Union? This is a moment when we must stand up for our immigrant communities -- that includes fighting to ensure the Dreamers are safe from deportation and that immigrant families know they are welcome here. We must stand up and say it’s wrong that America is the only industrialized country that doesn’t guarantee health care. Health care should be a right for every man, woman, and child in this country -- and no one should ever have to worry about supposed leaders playing politics with our public health. We must stand up and fight for a criminal justice system that treats all of us equally and does not disproportionately arrest and incarcerate people of color. That means fighting Jeff Sessions' attempts to revive the failed war on drugs and reforming the cash bail system that stacks the deck against low-income folks. That’s what we must fight for this year and what is at stake in 2O18. Are you with us? Can you add a contribution of $1 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee before tonight’s State of the Union? We can win this fight if we embrace our diversity and values and do what is necessary to take back our country from Trump and those who want to divide us. | Thanks for all you do, Kamala Harris U.S. Senator, California | Paid for by the DCCC | 430 South Capitol Street SE, Washington, DC 20003 | (202) 863-1500 | www.dccc.org | Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. | This message was sent to: kmyers209.shamrock5@blogger.com | If you'd like to sign up for emails in a different account, click here.
