What began as a series of illegal, unauthorized, deadly bombings in the waters of the Caribbean is now on the brink of all-out war in Latin America, Pamela.
U.S. officials are reportedly drawing up strike plans inside Venezuela — and in an extraordinary disclosure over operations usually kept classified, Trump has confirmed that he's authorized CIA action in the country.[1]
Trump is speaking openly and proudly about his unauthorized and dangerous march toward war, and a troubling lack of guardrails currently stand in his way. That's why we're going all-in to build the roadblocks necessary to stop him.
While anti-war champions in Congress introduce multiple pieces of legislation to avoid a war that puts millions of people at unnecessary risk, they're counting on Win Without War to lead the charge and build a movement powerful enough to stop a war. Our small team is working around the clock to make sure elected officials feel the heat from their constituents, that a pro-peace voice rings loud in DC, and to ensure people everywhere are reminded that there are NO military solutions to the overdose crisis. But we need to raise more resources to power this urgent work at such a critical moment.

Earlier this month, the Senate narrowly failed to advance a War Powers Resolution (WPR) that would halt Trump's lethal strikes in the Caribbean. But here's what gave us hope: The margin was close — just THREE votes. That's not all — TWO Republican senators broke ranks to rein in Trump.
That means, just a few more flips from "no" to "yes" would usher in the first major bipartisan rebuke of Trump's violent, destabilizing approach to our neighbors — and the dam is already breaking.
It's momentum that we have to seize if we're going to stop the violence we're witnessing before it escalates even further.
The next chance is quickly approaching, Pamela. As we speak, a bipartisan group of senators is preparing to force a vote on another WPR to block Trump's unauthorized war with Venezuela. With your help, we'll build more power to stop a war in this next phase — and all the ones that follow.
We have to move FAST to rally support for the resolution. Trump is building up U.S. forces in the region, and the airstrikes seem to have just gotten started, even as senior officials scramble to answer who was even on the boats being targeted — these unaccountable strikes terrorize local fishermen into staying onshore and losing their livelihoods. B-52 bombers and attack helicopters have flown off the Venezuelan coast in recent weeks, and 10,000 U.S. troops and 2,200 Marines are currently deployed to bases and ships nearby.[2]
As Trump continues to escalate, Congress has the power to — and MUST — stop this march toward war in its tracks. It's up to all of us to make sure they use every ounce of that authority, and we'll help them do it by building the pressure and political space that gets us the majority we need.
Win Without War is doing everything we can. We've stopped wars before, and we can do it again — but we need grassroots activists like you with us.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
