Tell Congress: Impeach Hegseth

We can't stay silent as Trump's Defense Secretary threatens us all.

Win Without War

Pamela: While the federal government braced for a shutdown that would furlough hundreds of thousands of workers, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hauled hundreds of top generals to Quantico for what one Pentagon official called a "total waste of money."[1]

Trump used the gathering to claim he's fighting an "invasion from within" and affirm his intentions to use "cities as training grounds for our military."[2] With Hegseth heading the Pentagon, Trump's got a dangerously powerful lackey to do his bidding.

We knew Hegesth was unfit to serve during his nomination process, and every day since he's only proved us right. Impeachment is how Congress can check an out-of-control official who is abusing his power, threatening our democracy, and harming communities here and abroad. We can't stay silent.

We're not the only ones realizing Secretary of "War" Pete Hegseth is a danger to us all. If that's all you need to hear to take the next step and demand he be removed from office, sign on to join us and tens of thousands of other activists demanding Congress use its authority to impeach Pete Hegseth.

ACT NOW

You've likely seen some the the headlines, but here's just a snapshot of Hegseth's first few months on the job:

Headlines from Pete Hegseth's embattled tenure as Defense Secretary

Pamela, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hegseth is all-too-eager to do Trump's bidding, whether that's a "war from within" against U.S. communities or new wars beyond our borders. He's signed off on Trump's dangerous deployments of Marines to suppress protests in Los Angeles, and of the National Guard to DC, Memphis, and Portland. Just yesterday, he directed another unauthorized strike on a boat in the Caribbean, likely in violation of both U.S. and international laws.

His less publicized, behind-the-scenes actions are just as disturbing. Hegseth purged judge advocate generals (JAGs), legal officers who advise commanders on upholding the rule of law, from the armed forces. His stated rationale? To remove "roadblocks to orders that are given by a commander in chief."[3]

That only builds on his past work to make it more difficult to file whistleblower complaints, report toxic leadership, or report discrimination.[4]

Pete Hegseth is a danger to our communities and our servicemembers alike, and we cannot treat this like business as usual. We've urged lawmakers to call for Hegseth's resignation, but that's no longer enough. We urgently need Congress to take action, but that will only happen with pressure from constituents like you. That's why we're driving messages to Congress demanding it use its constitutional authority to impeach Hegseth.

Pete Hegseth needs to go. Join our call to impeach Trump's embattled Secretary of Defense by sending a message to Congress today:

Our job, now and always, is to defend communities facing violence and injustice. It's our job to throw a wrench in the gears of the horrible war machine Trump's building. That requires speaking out for accountability and against injustice — and it means removing Pete Hegseth from the Pentagon immediately.

Thank you for working for peace,
