Pamela, politicians have been manipulating voting maps for decades, choosing their voters instead of letting voters choose them. Gerrymandering silences communities and undermines our democracy. That's why Floridians made partisan gerrymandering illegal in our state back in 2010.
On Wednesday, September 17 from 1:00-2:00pm ET, our September Democracy Seminar will focus on redistricting and recent proposals from Florida state leaders to re-draw voting maps in the middle of the decade.
We'll discuss:
How redistricting works
What Floridians have done to fight gerrymandering
What's going on with recent proposals to re-draw maps in the middle of the decade
How you can push back against this attempt to rig our voting maps for partisan gain
This is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others who are passionate about building more representative and inclusive democratic systems.
Register and join us in the conversation. Together, we'll make sure every Floridian's voice is heard and our democracy stays strong.
We hope to see you there!
