Pamela,
Donald Trump has made it clear: he thinks the presidency should come with unchecked power. We've watched as Trump and his allies have cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, slashed our services, and defied the courts—all while continuing to enrich the ultra-wealthy.
But across Florida, we're rising up to say: America doesn't have kings.
On Saturday, June 14, we're taking to the streets nationwide. NO KINGS is a national day of nonviolent action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies.
On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress created the U.S. Army to stand up against a monarch who claimed absolute power. 250 years later, Donald Trump wants to twist that legacy into a personal celebration of himself with a military parade intended to intimidate opponents.
Instead of allowing this military parade to be the center of gravity, on June 14 we will make sure that the story of America is people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption.
Common Cause Florida is co-hosting the NO KINGS visibility event in St. Petersburg, and we invite you to join us there. If you're not in St.Petersburg, there are events happening all across Florida and the nation! Find an event near you >>
This is more than a visibility event, it's a declaration. Every person who shows up adds strength to our message: No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings. This country doesn't belong to strongmen. It belongs to the people.
That's why we need people like you who are committed and passionate defenders of democracy—to show up, speak out, and bring others with you.
We're for freedom, fairness, and a government that serves the people—not one man.
We hope to see you on June 14!.

P.S. A core principle behind all NO KINGS events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. For more information, visit
