DOGE is investigating the wrong departments

Federal contractors aren't worth more than our communities

When you think of government waste, you don't think of your local community. However, Republicans are willing to do anything to put more money into the hands of the greedy and out of the hands of those who need it the most. Pamela, Republicans want to cut critical funding for food assistance and health care to increase both Pentagon and ICE funding. That means instead of your hard earned dollars paying for public programs like SNAP, Medicaid and education initiatives, your tax money will go to pay for wasteful Pentagon contractors and private prisons used for detention and family separation. Instead of investing your hard earned tax dollars into the collective good, Republicans want to burn your money on pricey federal contractors. Tell Congress that they should invest in our communities, not the Pentagon. Tell Congress → Fund Our Communities Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency obviously hasn't lived up to its name. We know that so-called defense corporations like Raytheaon, Lockheed Martin, Boening, and Northrop Grumman get roughly half of the nearly $900 billion Pentagon budget every year. Pamela, I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty wasteful to me. Instead of overpaying defense contractors and paying for private prisons, that money could be going towards our communities, who need it the most. We could be building more affordable housing, solving the climate crisis, improving our public education system, and ending hunger. Why are we putting money in the pockets of the rich and powerful when they clearly don't need it? It's time to tell Congress to investigate the Pentagon for waste and fraud, not taking money out of hungry mouths.
