Take Action: Stop Historic Cuts to Medicaid and Food Stamps

Pamela, Last week, the Republican-led Congress passed a government funding bill (also known as a continuing resolution) which included billions of dollars in cuts to lifesaving healthcare research, affordable housing, and clean water. But they're not stopping there. Republicans are pushing a separate 2-step budget process that will result in devastating cuts to lifeline programs like Medicaid and food stamps. There's still time to stop the Medicaid and EBT cuts they're planning. But we need your help! Contact your members of Congress and urge them to protect lifelines that keep millions of our neighbors fed and healthy. These cuts would: Jeopardize health coverage for nearly one in five people who rely on Medicaid Take away food assistance through SNAP from millions, including one in five children Cut child care assistance, making it harder for parents to work and support their families Reduce funding for federal workers who provide essential services in our communities There is enough for all of us, but Republicans are choosing billionaire tax breaks over the needs of people like you and me.
