Pamela,
Trump's EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, completely pivoted the entire purpose of the agency overnight.
Here's what happened: For more than 50 years, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has been protecting our communities from pollution to ensure the air we breathe and the water we drink is safe. And to slow down the fossil fuel pollution responsible for creating the climate crisis we're living in right now.
This agency puts scientific findings into action, holding polluters accountable -- and preventing pollution in the first place -- when pollutants are scientifically proven to harm human health. And it's not just for us right now, but for future generations too.
Yesterday, Lee Zeldin announced he would unwind dozens of these protections and erase the EPA's legal authority to protect communities from pollution. Now, under Lee Zeldin, the EPA is doing a 180 to protect polluter profits instead of the American people. That means as the climate crisis worsens, we'll also be seeing higher risks of cancer, asthma, brain damage, and many more preventable diseases.
ADD YOUR NAME: It is unconscionable to put corporate profits above the fate of the American people's health and safety. Pamela, sign on to our letter telling Zeldin to reverse his actions.
Let's be clear: This is exactly why Trump picked Lee Zeldin. He accepted more than $410,000 in campaign contributions from Big Oil while running for Congress and Governor of New York. And as soon as he got the gig, he went on Fox News and promised to "roll back" the very protections that keep our air and water clean and safe. Now, he's delivering on that promise.
But this isn't just a game of politics. American lives are on the line. Trump and Zeldin are willing to endanger us and make us sicker, if it makes their Big Oil friends richer. Placing polluter profits above people -- our health and safety and our children's health and safety -- is unacceptable. Sign on to our letter demanding Zeldin reverse course and protect communities from pollution.
Thanks for being in this fight,
