Pamela,
Today, while Donald Trump is sworn in as president of the United States, our nation is grappling with horrifying effects of the climate crisis. 2024 was the hottest year on record. In the last year alone, we've experienced raging wildfires, scorching temperatures, and intensifying hurricanes that threaten our health, our economy, and our lives.
During his first term in office, Donald Trump slashed over 125 environmental protections, pulled our country out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and let polluters off the hook for polluting our air and water with toxic chemicals.
It's frightening to think about what Donald Trump will do when he's back in the White House -- but we're ready, Pamela. We've spent months planning for today and strategizing on the first 100 days. And we know what we need to do to stand up for our future and protect our climate progress (more on that below).

We'll showcase what undoing our climate progress would mean. Our communities, including the voters Republicans represent, are depending on our clean energy progress, the jobs it's creating, and the lower costs it's delivering. And we have the platform, the tools, and the strategy to make that clear to constituents.
We're planning new ways to make the people who work for Donald Trump waste time chasing their own tails -- dealing with bad headlines and tough questions on their climate delay and inaction every single day.
And we'll use their thin majorities to our advantage. When repealing our climate progress goes up to a vote, we'll elevate the economic benefits of clean energy in key Republican districts and educate Americans about how to hold their representatives accountable. And we'll equip lawmakers with our research proving how popular investing in clean energy and climate action really is.
Thank you for your consistent support in the fight for climate action.
Sincerely,
Climate Power
