Hi Pamela,
It's been a little over a month since the election was called for Donald Trump. If you're feeling devastated by the unqualified and outrageous Cabinet selections he's made so far, know that I'm right there with you.
I won't sugarcoat it—Trump's plans put our fundamental freedoms and the foundation of our democracy at serious risk. His Project 2025 agenda is exactly what we've come to expect from the far-right: criminalizing voters, gutting critical protections, and dramatically increasing the President's power to act without Congressional oversight.
But Pamela, I want you to know there's hope. Across the country, millions of people are gearing up to fight back—and Common Cause Florida will be there every step of the way. Together, we can protect our communities, defend our democracy, and stop this dangerous agenda.
In Florida, we need to draw a clear line in the sand: We must be ready to use every tool at our disposal during the upcoming legislative session to fight back against harmful bills that seek to advance an anti-democracy agenda. Because while we may not be able to stop every bad bill, we can still work to soften the worst parts and limit the damage—and make sure they hear the voices of the millions of Floridians who reject this agenda.
Pamela, we can't sit by while the far-right continues to reshape our state to fit their Project 2025 agenda. Now, more than ever, it's time to roll up our sleeves and do the work that safeguarding our democracy demands.
We can show the rest of the country that no matter the challenges, Floridians will never back down in the fight for our democracy. Add your name today to urge Florida lawmakers to do everything in their power to reject Trump's Project 2025 agenda.
Our democracy must—and will—survive for future generations. I'm confident we're up to the challenge. Pamela, we're so grateful to have you by our side in this fight—our future depends on it.
Thank you for all you do for our democracy,
Amy Keith, Executive Director
and the team at Common Cause Florida
