| Pamela, The American Government should work for we the people. But billionaires think they can buy and sell politicians, and dictate staffing decisions. Mega-donor Reid Hoffman, fresh off of defeating pro-working class Democrats Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush in their primaries, spent the first days of the Kamala Harris campaign demanding that Harris promise to fire Joe Biden's FTC chair if she's elected. The arrogance is astonishing. But even more astonishing is how normal this is. Sign the petition to show public support for the Biden-Harris antitrust agenda! Don't let billionaires buy our politicians! Between the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice, there are legal actions against Ticketmaster, Apple, and Amazon, as well as a slew of actions banning non-compete agreements and fighting against junk fees. FTC Chair Lina Khan is putting attempts at corporate consolidation under the microscope and making sure it won't harm consumers. And Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter, who is in charge of the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, is standing up against illegal monopolies that already exist, like UnitedHealth and Ticketmaster. Billionaires like Reid Hoffman are hoping that the next president will fire Khan and Kanter so that they can keep exploiting consumers. Meanwhile, Khan and Kanter announced an investigation into price-fixing and price collusion by monopolies. If Kamala Harris wins (and we hope she does), she'll have to manage a transition and decide where to continue the Biden Administration's legacy, and where to break with it. Your signature here will send a powerful message to stay the course when it comes to fighting corporate power! Thank you, Mike Phelan Progress America |
