Right as he left office, Donald Trump slammed on the gas in terms of military funding. He tried to write a blank check to build more nuclear bombs and submarines while egging on more military conflicts abroad. This new Pentagon budget is a Trump dream come true. Not only will this new budget continue some of Trump's reckless nuclear weapon spending, but it will also cut funding to a program designed to find new outbreaks of global diseases early and respond quickly. We're still in a global pandemic, so taxpayers should be funding programs to actually keep us safe, rather than building more world-ending bombs.
