I am writing to ask if you would make a $2.70 contribution before the midpoint of the final fundraising quarter of the campaign. It’s coming up fast, and we are a bit behind where we need to be right now. Please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important. - Bernie

The truth is, things are going very well for us right now. But there are challenges as well.

Friends -

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to our presidential campaign before a mid-quarter fundraising checkpoint we've set for ourselves. Please give me a chance to explain why this request — at this point in the race — is so important.

The truth is, things are going very well for us right now. We are a campaign with extraordinary momentum.

We have the lead in a few state polls and are gaining significant ground in national polls. We have had the largest rallies in Iowa and nationally. And we have more grassroots enthusiasm than any campaign in this race because our agenda resonates with the working people and young people of this country.

But there are significant challenges as well. We are getting out-spent on ads in Iowa. Joe Biden's super PAC is about to start spending big. And it seems like the political and corporate establishment is waking up to the fact that we have a good chance to win this race, so you can expect the kitchen sink.

Add to that the fact that November is typically a slow fundraising month, and we are 6.75% behind where we were at this point in October.

So our hope is to close that gap before Friday, the midpoint for the final fundraising quarter of the year. But for that, I need your help. So I am asking:

Can you make a $2.70 contribution to our campaign today? We are hoping to close the gap on our fundraising goals before the midway point of the final fundraising quarter of the year. Thank you.

Like we have said from the start of this campaign: no candidate for president — not even the greatest candidate you could possibly imagine — can do this alone.

There is only one way. And that is together.

Not me. Us.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
