In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to our campaign ahead of tonight's debate. Please give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important.
The truth is... we are going to win.
A lot of people in the political and media establishment may try to write us off, but the foundation for our success is there:
We have the most progressive and transformational ideas that speak to the needs of the working people of this country. We have the most volunteers. We have raised more money and have more individual donations, by far, of any campaign.
But tonight's debate is important, no doubt about it, and I am ready.
The rest is up to you. We have to maintain our volunteer advantage, and we have to maintain our donation advantage. It's critical to our success.
So our job between this morning and the time I take the stage tonight is to generate as many individual donations as we possibly can. Because each one moves us one step closer to victory — a step only YOU can take. So I am asking:
I am very proud of the way we fund our campaign — it is historic and unique for any campaign in modern American history; all grassroots from the first dollar to the last. And most of it comes in response to emails like this.
That's why your response to this note is so important. So thank you in advance for donating before I take the stage.
