States could eliminate around 191 state legislative seats currently held by Democrats across the South, 140 of which are majority Black or majority Hispanic. And that's on top of how the ruling could help Republicans lock in 19 new safe GOP seats in the U.S. House, which would prevent Democrats from taking control even if they secured a decisive victory in the popular vote.
