Hi Pamela – Tim Walz here.
I've always believed that when Minnesotans roll up our sleeves and work together, we can build a state where everyone gets a fair shot. And when Democrats controlled the legislature over the last couple of years, we delivered some of the most important progress Minnesota has seen in a generation.
But now those gains are under attack — and we need to show just how many people are ready to stand up and protect them.
That's why I'm asking you to add your name to our petition to protect Minnesota's progress going into 2026. Will you add your name today?
Here's some of what we've accomplished together:
- Universal free school meals so every child in Minnesota gets breakfast and lunch at no cost.
- Paid Family and Medical Leave for workers across the state. And up to 20 total weeks to care for a new baby, recover from illness, or support a loved one.
- The strongest reproductive freedom protections in the country, including safeguarding people who travel here for care.
- Restored voting rights for more than 55,000 Minnesotans.
- Legalized adult-use cannabis and began expunging past low-level convictions to give people a second chance.
- The largest investment in K–12 education in state history, including expanded mental health support and special education funding.
- Free college tuition at public and tribal colleges for families making under $80,000 a year.
- Red flag laws and universal background checks to help keep families and communities safe.
- A $1 billion climate and clean energy plan to modernize our grid, lower emissions, and prepare Minnesota for the future.
- A groundbreaking, nation-leading Child Tax Credit that will cut child poverty by one-third and put money back in families' pockets.
This is what it means to lead with values: to build a Minnesota where people care about one another, where freedom is protected, and where every kid, every worker, and every family has the chance to thrive.
But here's the reality:
Every single one of these wins is on the line in 2026.
The same folks who tried to block this progress are gearing up with dark money, national operatives, and a plan to roll back our rights and freedoms. They want to take Minnesota backwards.
I'm not going to let that happen.
So before we take the next step in this campaign, I need to show them exactly how many Minnesotans — and people across the country — are ready to defend what we've built together.
Add your name to join our campaign and protect our progress.
Thanks for being part of this,
Tim
