It's a lie reminiscent of the run-up to the failed Iraq War, Pamela: Trump has just declared fentanyl a "weapon of mass destruction" in a desperate attempt to justify his warmongering with Venezuela.
Combine this with a mounting death toll from unauthorized U.S. boat strikes, a blockade of all "sanctioned oil tankers" into Venezuela, admissions from Trump's Chief of Staff that the administration's goal is regime change in the country, and promises of land strikes, and you get a recipe for all-out, endless war.
It'll take a 24/7 effort to prevent further U.S. escalation in Latin America. That's why, as many slow down and step back this holiday season, Win Without War is racing.
Our small team is working around the clock to make sure lawmakers use their constitutional authority to stop Trump, elevate the demands of our pro-peace majority, and remind people that violent-first strategies from a failed 'war on drugs' will do nothing to support people struggling amidst an overdose crisis.
To take our campaigning to the next level, and build a movement that's truly powerful enough to stop a war before it begins, we've set an ambitious $100,000 fundraising goal for December — but we're just 44% of the way there.

Let's be clear: declaring fentanyl a "weapon of mass destruction" will do nothing to help people struggling with addiction and families impacted by the overdose crisis. Neither will slashing funding for proven drug treatment programs, eliminating support for lifesaving overdose prevention medication, and kicking millions off Medicaid.
Instead of providing families with the solutions they need to thrive, Trump is weaponizing their pain and grief to push a war that a majority of the public, across the political spectrum, does NOT want.[1]
Already, Trump and Hegseth have committed egregious human rights violations in our name as part of their illegal bombing campaign — and they're showing no signs of slowing down.
That's why Win Without War, movement partners, and activists like you have engaged in months of advocacy to prevent a new endless war, but there's work left to do.
Momentum to stop Trump's warmongering is reaching a fever pitch as more lawmakers push forward War Powers Resolutions and speak out against the lawless violence. Our public calls for "NO WAR" are becoming impossible to ignore as we take our message to Capitol Hill with a mobile billboard. Even servicemembers tasked with carrying out this unauthorized campaign are questioning their role, fearing blowback and legal repercussions.
We're not done yet, Pamela. But we'll need even more resources to escalate our multi-pronged campaign to pull us back from the brink of war.
We know what it takes to pull the U.S. off the path toward war. We've been here before and won, and we'll do it again with the support of folks like you.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
