Pamela,
It's hard to come to grips with the devastating floods in Central Texas.
As of this morning, there are 111 confirmed deaths and more than 170 people are missing. Thousands are facing untold damage to their homes and livelihoods. This is the deadliest freshwater flooding in Texas in a century, and climate scientists predict extreme weather events like this will only become more severe and frequent.
The climate crisis is here. It's now. And it's deadly. But being in the climate fight means showing up for each other. When extreme weather strikes, we ask if you can support organizations who send supplies, relief, and mutual aid to impacted communities. We help spread awareness and uplift their stories. We are in this together.
If you're feeling called to help communities impacted in Central Texas, there are many organizations working on the ground, like the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which is directing people to support the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
Thanks for being in the fight to combat the crisis that fuels these catastrophic storms and doing what you can for impacted communities.
We're in this together,
Climate Power
