With the stroke of a pen, Donald Trump last week ripped away health care for up to 17 million people, cut into funding for hundreds of desperately needed rural hospitals, slashed food assistance for low-income families, and so much more—all to give trillions of dollars in tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.1
Trump—and the Republicans who voted for the bill—think we're going to give up and go away now that the bill is signed. That's not happening.
We are gearing up to take to the streets on July 26 to let the Republicans and Trump administration know that families come before billionaires. Building off of the incredible grassroots support for the Hands Off! and No Kings days of action, MoveOn is joining with partners to host hundreds of peaceful marches, protests, and rallies across the country.
More than 3 million people took to the streets in April for the Hands Off! protests; over 5 million came out in June to join the No Kings day of action.
We can make Families First events even larger, but that will take an enormous amount of effort, and we need your help to make it happen.

Like the mass mobilizations we saw in April and June, we are hoping that the Families First day of action will span hundreds or thousands of events in all 50 states, and MoveOn will be working around the clock with our partners until July 26 to make sure the day will be big, safe, impactful, and a clear message to those in power.
Planning for these events includes everything from building a website to allow people to find events near them and sign up for notifications about them to working with companies to rent stages and sound systems—and everything in between.
Much to the chagrin of Trump and his cronies, all of these mobilizations are people powered, meaning that your local event will be hosted by a member of your community volunteering their time because they feel passionate about these issues—not paid campaigners.
To ensure everyone feels prepared and all events are safe and successful, MoveOn and our partners will be hosting virtual trainings on Zoom, providing written guides, and giving on-demand support to help hosts get the word out about the event in their community, reach out to local leaders who might speak at their events, rent microphones and equipment, and even reach out to the local press.
With hundreds of hosts in big cities, small towns, urban centers, and rural areas, providing timely and relevant guidance is critical and a huge undertaking for the MoveOn team.
