Dear MoveOn member,
MoveOn just launched a big new grassroots campaign: the creation of new on-the-ground organizing teams in six vulnerable Republican districts to hold members of Congress accountable for voting to cut health care and food assistance—all to fund even more tax breaks for billionaires.
These Republican representatives in moderate and purple districts in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, and Virginia chose Trump's agenda over their own constituents' needs.
Big mistake. Now it's time they face the consequences.
These groups, which we're calling "organizing cohorts," will build teams of local, on-the-ground volunteer leaders who will maintain consistent, visible pressure on these representatives through strategic grassroots actions.
These cohorts won't just show up once and disappear. They'll meet regularly, train together, and execute a series of grassroots organizing tactics, including these:
-
Delivering petitions directly to congressional offices
-
Publishing letters to the editor in local newspapers
-
Organizing rallies and honk-and-wave events at high-visibility locations
-
Coordinating phone banks to flood representatives' offices with constituent calls
-
"Bird-dogging" representatives at public events to ask tough questions
-
Gathering personal stories from affected constituents
-
And much, much more
Will you donate $9 right now to help us launch and sustain these powerful district cohorts who will organize to hold these Republicans accountable? (If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.)
Each of the representatives we are targeting won by razor-thin margins in 2024 or represents a district that Kamala Harris carried in the general election.
Their votes to cut health care and food assistance are deeply unpopular with Americans, regardless of their party affiliation.
Our organizing cohorts will hold their feet to their fire and ensure their constituents know exactly how these Republicans betrayed them.
This isn't just about one vote or one news cycle. We're building lasting power—and organized communities—in these key districts that will hold these representatives accountable every day.
Your donation will directly fund:
-
MoveOn organizing staff who will train the volunteer leaders in each district
-
Materials and resources for local actions and events
-
Media training for cohort members to effectively tell their stories
-
Technology to coordinate phone banks and text campaigns
-
Support for in-person meetups and actions
We can't do this alone. As a grassroots, member-driven organization, MoveOn does not have billionaire donors bankrolling our coffers. Andra, we rely on grassroots donations from activists like you.
Will you donate $9 today to help us launch this critical program and build the grassroots power we need to protect our health care? (If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.)
Thanks for all you do.
