 Friend, Have you heard about Republicans’ so-called SAVE Act, Friend? Let me explain: House Republicans just passed this legislation, claiming it would secure our elections. But don’t be fooled. The truth? It would pressure states into blocking eligible Americans from voting – disenfranchising millions in the process. It would even make it harder for women who’ve changed their names after marriage to cast a ballot. Let’s be clear: This is an attempt to seize control of our elections. The SAVE Act isn’t about election security. It’s about following Donald Trump’s lead and fueling the flames of election denialism. As the leader of Senate Democrats, I can tell you this bill is dead on arrival in the Senate. Trump and his allies have repeatedly attacked our democracy, and they’ll keep doing it unless we stand up and stop them.
