The biggest threat to Social Security since 1935

Dear Pamela, Donald Trump swore he would never touch Social Security. But now, he's handed the axe to Elon Musk, who openly calls the program a "Ponzi scheme" and is moving at breakneck speed to gut it. If Congress doesn't act immediately, Musk could dismantle Social Security as we know it – leaving millions of retirees, disabled Americans, and survivors without the benefits they earned. Musk has already fired the acting Social Security commissioner, installed his own loyalist, and granted his untrained employees access to the most sensitive personal data of every American. He's slashed thousands of jobs, announced plans to fire nearly half the Social Security workforce, and has already begun shutting down field offices. But that's just the start. This is the gravest threat to Social Security since FDR signed it into law. Former Social Security Commissioner Martin O'Malley warns that these drastic cuts will lead to a total system collapse in as little as 30 to 90 days. Millions could be left without their Social Security checks, disabled Americans could lose vital benefits, and survivors and dependents could see their financial lifelines severed. We must act now to stop Musk and Trump from destroying Social Security. Congress must pass Rep. John Larson's emergency legislative package before it's too late. Resolution of Inquiry – Forces Trump to disclose any plans to cut Social Security, close offices, or privatize the program. Even though Republicans control the House, their constituents rely on Social Security just as much as Democrats' constituents do. If enough swing-district representatives break ranks, we can pass these bills immediately and stop Musk in his tracks. But if Congress fails to act, the consequences will be catastrophic: millions of Americans losing their hard-earned benefits, with no way to restore them.
