For millions of children living in poverty in rural America, the end of the school year can mean the end of reliable meals and regular exercise, the end of access to books and art supplies and no school nurse to help them when they’re sick. Worse still, it can mean losing up to two months of what they learned in what’s called the "summer slide."
For these children, summer isn’t fair. We believe every child deserves a bright future, no matter what hardships they’re facing. That’s why we’re asking you to help reach our $200,000 goal to provide access to quality education and health care and ensure no child goes hungry.
Your gift today will help children like 2-year-old Lupita* and her six siblings. Their family lives in rural California, where a lack of public services makes day-to-day life difficult. Thankfully, since enrolling in Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success program, Lupita’s family receives books, food, hygiene products and other essentials, giving her and her brothers and sisters a chance to succeed.
Thank you for supporting children — this summer and always. Partnering in this important work creates brighter futures for children across the United States, and we so appreciate it.

P.S. Your generosity today will help power initiatives like Lola the Bus, a converted school bus we use to deliver nutritious food to kids in rural New Mexico. To learn more about Lola and the incredible impact of your support, watch this inspiring video.
